Mag-Instruments offers rental solutions for its complete portfolio of magnetic treatments and measurements, including the AF Demagnetizer (AFD), Pulse Magnetizer (PM), Portable Spinning Magnetometer (PSM), Ultra-Sensitive Spinner Magnetometer (USM), and Bacterio-Magnetodrome.
Why rent?
Our rental program provides research institutions, universities, and industry laboratories with access to state-of-the-art rock magnetic, paleomagnetic, and materials science instrumentation, without long-term commitment. For laboratories that require an instrument only for a limited period, renting can be significantly more cost-effective than purchasing.
Renting is ideal for short-term research projects, launching a new laboratory, bridging a grant phase, or evaluating systems before purchase. All systems are delivered ready for operation and with full technical support.

Rental Period and Flexibility
Customers may choose between annual and monthly rental plans, with 2 months minimum rental period. At the end of the agreed term, the contract can be extended, converted into a purchase (see Convert to Purchase), or concluded with instrument return.
Rental durations can be customized to align with project durations, temporary laboratory expansions, or grant timelines.
Logistics & Shipping
We ship instruments worldwide.
Mag-Instruments organizes the complete logistics process, including shipment coordination and transport arrangements, so you do not need to manage any shipping procedures yourself.
Shipping and customs costs are borne by the customer. This includes:
- Outbound shipment from Mag-Instruments to the customer’s facility
- Any applicable customs duties, import taxes, or clearance fees
- Return shipment at the end of the rental period
All instruments are carefully packed for secure international transport. Delivery timelines depend on instrument availability and destination. We will coordinate shipping details closely with you to ensure a smooth process.
Technical Responsibility
From the time of delivery until the instrument is safely returned, the customer assumes responsibility for its proper use and care.
We trust that the instrument will be operated by qualified personnel and handled in accordance with the provided documentation.
In the event of a technical issue not caused by improper handling, Mag-Instruments will provide remote support and work together with you to determine the most effective solution.
Convert to Purchase
If you choose to purchase the instrument, 70% of the rental fees paid within the previous 24 months will be credited toward the purchase price (excluding VAT). You can also purchase a different instrument from the one you rented. In this case, a maximum of half the price of the rented instrument can be credited towards the purchase.
